Greg Dowds

When looking for people able to help plan new developments, you need someone who knows what the process really entails. Greg has an educational background in design architecture at University of Oregon as well as an architecture and BS in city and regional planning from Cal Poly SLO. Greg has undertaken numerous projects in many different arenas, and is a seasoned, accomplished founding partner and former planner bringing in 26+ years of experience and expertise across several high-level positions: 

 

• City and Regional Planner with Tulare County

• Community Development Director for the City of Visalia

• President of Dowds Planning Services

 

He has also been involved with prestigious organizations involved in planning and development including The American Institute of Certified Planners and the Urban Land Institute. Greg has also served to share his success and knowledge with others through several years teaching Planning and Economic Development at the University of California, and Planning at The College of the Sequoias. Greg has been recognized with a number of awards for his work including: 

 

• Distinguished Leadership Award to a Professional Planner

• A Journalism award from the APA

• HUD Award of Excellence for Joint Partnership.

 

In addition to all of this, Greg is also a published author, having written several articles and instructional plans for other planners, utilized at the state level. He remains involved in the community, and looks forward to continuing the development of the Central Valley.
